Transformations, by JT Artistry | San Francisco Bay Area Makeup and Hair

JT Artistry, Jennifer Toy, has been working in the makeup industry for several years.  We’ve collaborated on several shoots, and I really love her work.  She takes her time and does it well, and really makes women look beautiful.  She’s very versatile so she can put a spin on any look…  and yes ladies, she does weddings and events!

Anyway, when she does her makeup for her clients, she loves to take a before and after shot… and she calls her collection, “Transformations”.  I know, us girls really feel NAKED, and less confident, or not even confident at ALL without makeup.  Makeup is sometimes a girl’s best friend, and I am so proud of girls who feel fine going out to the mall confidently, without being all done up.  That shows that you’re bold, confident, and strong.
I wanted to show you the girls before Jen’s transformations, and show what we created afterwards.  You’ll see that these girls are normal, just like every single one of us.  I have to tell you they ARE in different lighting, posed with my help and a little direction, to help find their “sweet spot” (what my mentor, Scott says), and find where they look most beautiful in.  Tell me what you think.  Are you interested in doing this transformation?

I also have to add that Jen has transformed me as well.  At first, I was not very “happy” about seeing my before pictures, and in fact, I normally don’t like any pictures taken of me without makeup on.  My “before” picture is my most vulnerable, “I am standing in front of a whole crowd, naked” feeling.  Totally not confident, and what a nightmare!!  But honestly… ladies, I did this for you.  Sometimes you might feel vulnerable and insecure in front of your family, running a meeting at work, or even speaking in front of hundreds of people.  Heck, sometimes you might feel insecure being on the other side of my camera.  Just remember, irregardless of how you look, everyone is beautiful.  It is my passion to find YOUR inner beauty and bring it out.

So…. SURPRISE!  This is ME being bold and showing the entire world my insecurities.  This is the natural and clean look.  Here is my before and after:

Big thanks to Josh Rodriguez for taking this and helping me out this day!

What a great post! The before & afters are an excellent example how make-up can transform a persons appearance and also challenges our perception of real beauty! Thanks for be ‘naked’, thanks for sharing!ReplyCancel
